Payments

Every payment method supported by Xduka depends on third-party providers for transaction processing.

Paysasa TeamUpdated 23 Apr 2026

When setting up your store to receive payment, you can choose from different payment gateway integrations to accept payments online. When your customers check out, they can choose to pay for their orders via any of the methods that you’ve enabled in the Payment providers section of Xduka. You may enable different payment methods using Xduka.

You may need to consider a few things when you’re selecting a payment method for your customer. If you want that your customer should pay using a credit card, then you can select Xduka payments or a third-party provider.

There are many ways through which your customers can pay online without using a credit card, like Amazon pay, Paypal and Apple pay. Allow your customers with accelerated checkout buttons that you can enable on your Xduka checkouts. Some payment providers like Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Amazon Pay also provide accelerated checkouts.

When choosing an ideal payment provider, you need to consider countries where your business is located and customers live. You can easily find out which payment gateways are available in your country and what currency they support in Xduka’s list of payment gateways by country section.

Manage all your payment methods in the Payment providers section of Admin.

All Xduka-supported payment methods rely on third-party providers to process your payments. These providers might charge extra fees, as well as enforce rules about what products you can sell using their service.

  2. How often you get paid
  3. How much you get paid
  4. How a credit card payment gets processed

How you get paid

When you set up a payment provider to accept credit card payments, each payment must be processed, so there is usually a delay between when the customer pays for their order and when you receive the payment. After the payment is processed, the purchase amount will be transferred to your merchant account.

How often you get paid

If you are using Xduka Payments, then you can check your pay period to see when you’ll receive payouts from credit card orders. Other payment providers have their own rules on when you receive payouts for credit card orders.

How much you get paid

You can be charged a few transaction fees for online transactions. For credit card transactions, the issuer, the acquirer, and the credit card company all charge a small fee for using their services.

How a credit card payment gets processed

When a customer pays you for their online order using a credit card, the payment has to be processed before the funds are added to your merchant account. This process has the following

stages:

  • Authorization
  • Capture
  • Clearing
  • Funding

Authorization

The customer uses their credit card to pay for the order on your store. The payment provider you've set up checks with the issuer to make sure the credit card is valid. If the card is valid and has enough funds, then the issuer authorizes the payment. No funds are transferred at this stage.

Capture

After the payment is authorized, the payment has to be captured. When a payment is captured, details about the payment are sent to the acquirer.

Clearing

The acquirer reviews the payment details, and then requests the necessary funds from the company that processes the customer's credit card.

The credit card company sends the transaction information to the issuer. The issuer subtracts a small fee from the total transaction amount, and then sends the remaining amount back to the credit card company. The card company subtracts their fee, and then sends the remaining amount to the acquirer.
