How to Open a Seller Store on Airsoko: From Sign-Up to Store Setup Checklist

Ready to sell? This guide walks you through creating your Airsoko seller account, verifying your identity, setting up your store details, shipping, payouts and branding, and publishing your first product.

Paysasa Team12 Oct 2026

On our Sell page, we sum up getting started in four steps: create an account, list products, receive orders and get paid. This guide expands those steps into a practical setup walkthrough.

Some of the screen names below come from our seller dashboard and may change over time. If something looks different, our Seller Resources hub and seller support team can help.

Before you start

Have these ready:

  • An email address for your seller account.
  • A national ID or other ID document for verification.
  • Your business details if you are a registered business. Individual sellers can start without a business licence, while professional and enterprise sellers may need a KRA PIN and business registration for tax compliance.
  • Your M-Pesa number or bank details for payouts.
  • A few products with good photos and descriptions.

Read our Seller Agreement, Commission Structure and Seller SLA so you know the rules from day one.

Step 1: Create your account

  1. Go to admin.airsoko.com, our seller dashboard.
  2. Select Sign up to Create Airsoko ID. You can continue with your email address or with Google.
  3. Follow the prompts to complete your business profile.

Signing up is free.

Step 2: Verify your identity (KYC)

Verification builds trust and is needed for payouts. In the seller dashboard, go to Settings and open KYC. The verification form asks for details such as account type, ID document type, photos of the front and back of your ID, a profile photo and a phone number.

Submit the form and check back on the verification status.

Step 3: Fill in your store details

Under Settings > General, add:

  • Store name.
  • Contact details: a primary email and phone, plus public support email and phone for customers.
  • Billing information and address.
  • Standards and formats such as store currency, timezone and unit system.

Step 4: Add a location and set up shipping

  1. Under Settings > Locations, add the address you fulfil orders from.
  2. Under Settings > Shipping, create a delivery profile, or enable local delivery or local pickup.
  3. Set your delivery time so shoppers see realistic dates.

You can self-ship orders or use Airsoko Fulfillment Services (AFS). Our separate guide covers shipping setup in detail.

Step 5: Configure tax

Under Settings > Tax & VAT, confirm your store country and how tax is calculated, for example whether prices include tax.

Step 6: Add a payout account

Under Settings > Payouts, add a payout account. The dashboard supports options such as mobile money and bank accounts. Our Finance Guidelines explain payment methods and schedules, including weekly Wednesday payouts.

Step 7: Brand your store

Under the Brand settings, upload your logo and cover image, write a short description and slogan, set your colours and add social links. These appear on your store page and help shoppers trust you.

Step 8: Publish your first product

Go to Products and add a product with photos, a clear title and description, price, condition and stock quantity. Our product listing guide walks through every field.

Use the setup checklist

The seller dashboard home includes a store setup checklist that tracks tasks such as KYC verification, adding a location, setting up shipping, tax settings, publishing your first product, adding a payout account, uploading your logo, adding a brand description and contact details. Work through it until every item is ticked.

After you go live

  • Confirm orders within 24 hours and ship on time, as our Seller SLA requires.
  • Pack carefully using our Packaging Guidelines.
  • Keep stock and prices accurate to avoid cancellations.
  • Respond to questions and reviews promptly.

An example: a first week

Take Faith, for example, who makes and sells beaded jewellery in Nakuru. On day one she creates her account and submits KYC. On day two she fills in store details, adds her home workshop as a location and sets up a delivery profile. On day three she adds her M-Pesa payout account, uploads her logo and writes a short brand story. On day four she photographs and lists her ten best pieces. By the end of the week every checklist item is ticked, and she shares her store link with her customers.

Your store in an afternoon

Opening an Airsoko store takes an afternoon: create your account, verify, fill in store details, set up shipping, tax and payouts, brand your store and publish your first product.
